Trump Sparks Backlash Over Comments About Karoline Leavitt
Donald Trump is facing fresh criticism—this time for remarks aimed at White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. His comments add to a growing list of controversial statements about women.
A Pattern of Disparaging Remarks
In recent weeks, Trump has drawn fire for targeting female journalists. Last month, he called Bloomberg reporter Catherine Lucey “piggy” during a tense exchange. Weeks later, he labeled another reporter “nasty” and “stupid.”
Now, Leavitt has become his latest focus.
Remarks Framed as Compliments but Viewed as Inappropriate
During a rally in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, on December 9, Trump highlighted his 28-year-old press secretary in a way many found unnecessary.
“We even brought our superstar today, Karoline,” he said, adding, “Isn’t Karoline great?”
According to The Sun, he continued with comments about her appearance:
“When she goes on television… they dominate when she gets up there with that beautiful face and those lips that don’t stop-op-op-op, like a little machine gun.”
He then tied her on-air presence to the administration’s policies.

Trump’s Additional Remarks Raise More Eyebrows
Trump veered into familiar talking points, claiming Leavitt’s job is “easier” because his administration avoids issues like “men in women’s sports,” transgender rights, and what he called “open borders.”
Leavitt Remains Unbothered—At Least Publicly
Leavitt has not addressed Trump’s remarks. However, she appears unfazed, sharing several posts about Tuesday’s event on Twitter.
Leavitt Opens Up About Her Age-Gap Relationship
While she hasn’t commented on Trump’s words, Leavitt recently discussed her marriage during an appearance on Pod Force One. Her husband is 32 years older.
When asked why she didn’t date “boys her own age,” she responded simply:
“Honestly, no, if you want to know the truth.”
