Dylan Dreyer Admits a ‘Heartbreaking, Necessary’ Farewell to Her Sons’ Room as She Prepares to Leave the Home That Held Everything. Dylan Dreyer has shown glimpses of her family’s packed boxes and freshly painted walls. But one carefully framed photo hinted at an emotional truth she didn’t say outright: the room she’s walking away from held more than just toys and bunkbeds. It held a chapter she never expected to close.

Dylan Dreyer is saying goodbye to her sons’ old bedroom.

The Today meteorologist, 44, shared a series of photos on Instagram on Thursday, Oct. 23, as she posted a farewell to her old apartment. In one photo, Dreyer could be seen painting an olive green room’s walls white with the help of her 3-year-old son, Russell.

She also included a photo of her sons’ bedroom, which included their triple bunkbed. “This room holds a lot of memories and I thank God every day for each and every one of them,” she wrote in her caption.

“And the boys have a whole lifetime of love and dreams ahead of them! Just not in a triple bunk bed!” Dreyer joked at the end of her post.

She spoke with Today about her move and shared that her family is moving after outgrowing their space.

“We bought the place when I was pregnant with Calvin and now we’ve grown out of our two-bedroom apartment,” said Dreyer to the outlet. “I’m so sad about it but also so ready at the same time!”

“It was a love/hate relationship. I was mad everyday with so little space and the boys bothering each other at night: the wild running around but no space to do so. The boys definitely need more running room!”

Moving apartments isn’t the only change Dreyer has gone through this year. The Today host, who also serves as the co-anchor of the third hour, shared the news of her separation from husband Brian Fichera on July 18 via Instagram.

Dreyer and Fichera were married for 12 years and share three sons together: Russell, 3, Oliver, 5, and Calvin, 8. The pair first met while working at the same local Boston news station before tying the knot in 2012.

Later that month, the mom of three shared pictures from her family golf outing with her son Calvin and Fichera, 38. In the Instagram post, Dreyer included a selfie with her and her son as well as another picture with her, Calvin and her estranged husband. The boy mom ended the post with a snap of the scorecard, showing that the mother-son duo narrowly beat Fichera.

“Figured out how to do better at @acchampionship …team up with Calvin for a best ball!” the proud mom said. “My buddy gets to join us on the course now!”
