Lainey Wilson Attends the 2025 CMA Awards With Her Fiancé Duck Hodges
Ever since Lainey Wilson announced her engagement in February, fans have been asking the same question:
When is she getting married?
Wilson had plenty to celebrate on Wednesday night (November 19), when she hosted the 59th Annual CMA Awards in Nashville. She became only the third woman in CMA history to host the ceremony solo, following icons Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton.
On top of hosting, Wilson delivered two show-stopping performances—first a medley of country hits, then a fiery, crowd-pleasing rendition of her own song “Ring Finger.”
And she didn’t just run the show…she dominated the awards too.
Lainey Wilson Wins Big — And Celebrates With Her Fiancé
Wilson walked away with three major trophies:
• Album of the Year
• Female Vocalist of the Year
• Entertainer of the Year
She celebrated all night long alongside her fiancé, former NFL quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges. The couple walked the red carpet hand in hand, and Hodges watched proudly from the audience as Wilson delivered joke after joke, performance after performance, and ultimately accepted her Entertainer of the Year trophy.

Lainey Reveals When She’s Getting Married — During Her Speech
One of the night’s sweetest moments came when Wilson accepted Entertainer of the Year from Keith Urban. Wilson thanked her team, her fans…and then turned to her fiancé with a smile.
“We’re getting married next year, come on now!” she said proudly, confirming a 2026 wedding.
Wilson admitted she entered the night just grateful to be hosting, saying,
“I just came in here wanting to celebrate country music, the love of my life, and the love of so many of y’all’s lives.”
Hodges beamed from the crowd as she spoke, proving once again he’s her biggest supporter.
Wedding Planning? Well… Sort Of
Back in August, Wilson admitted she and Hodges hadn’t gotten very far with the actual planning.
“Well, you ain’t gonna believe this, but we still have not planned it, bless his heart,” she told Taste of Country Nights. “It just seems like everything else is getting planned instead.”
The couple is still deciding the basics—big wedding or small, who’s invited, who’s not—but Wilson says she does know two things for sure:
1. There will be jazz music.
2. She will finally wear a dress.
“I hadn’t worn a dress for him yet, and I guess that would be the day to do it,” she told The Kelleigh Bannen Show.
Looks like wedding day might be the perfect time to trade in the bell-bottoms for something a little more bridal!
