What’s going on with Andrea Tantaros?

Once a rising star at Fox News and a bold voice in conservative commentary, Andrea Tantaros seemed destined for a long, high-profile career in television.

But after a headline-making lawsuit and an abrupt disappearance from the spotlight, fans are still asking: where is Andrea Tantaros now?

The Fox News Powerhouse

Andrea Tantaros joined Fox News in April 2010. She quickly stood out for her sharp takes, confident presence, and no-nonsense style. Viewers took notice. And by 2011, she was a founding co-host of The Five, one of the network’s breakout panel shows that soared in the ratings.

In 2014, she made the move to Outnumbered, joining a panel of female anchors and rotating male guests in daytime discussions of current events. Her unapologetic conservative commentary, mixed with a bold, independent streak, made her a standout among Fox’s high-profile personalities.

“I believe in being a conservative,” she once said, “but you also need to maintain your independent streak.” It was this blend of sharp politics and off-script candor that gave her staying power — until everything changed.

The Book That Stirred the Pot

In 2016, Tantaros added author to her résumé with the release of Tied Up in Knots: How Getting What We Wanted Made Women Miserable. The book offered a provocative critique of modern feminism. Tantaros argued that the pursuit of equality had left many women unfulfilled and disconnected from traditional values.

She argued that many women had adopted “male” traits in the workplace and in relationships — to their own detriment. The book received mixed reviews: praised by some for its bravery, criticized by others for oversimplifying gender dynamics.

Controversy deepened when Michael Krechmer, under the pseudonym Michael Malice, alleged he was the ghostwriter and sued Tantaros over compensation. Tantaros denied the claims, standing by her authorship — but the public dispute added fuel to an already polarizing narrative.

The Lawsuit That Changed Everything

In August 2016, Tantaros filed a bombshell lawsuit against Fox News, alleging sexual harassment by then-CEO Roger Ailes and other senior executives. She claimed that after speaking up, Fox News retaliated. First, she was demoted from The Five. Then, she was sidelined from programming. By April 2016, she was off the air entirely.

In her lawsuit, she described the network using controversial language, calling it a “sex-fueled, Playboy Mansion-like cult.”

Fox denied the allegations, claiming her departure was due to contract issues over her book. The lawsuit was sent to arbitration. And later, in 2017, she filed a second suit, alleging the network hacked her devices and engaged in illegal surveillance. That case, too, was dismissed in 2018 for insufficient evidence.

Regardless of outcome, the legal fight effectively ended her broadcasting career. And it kicked off one of the most mysterious vanishing acts in recent cable news history.

Fox has consistently denied all allegations and maintained that Tantaros’s claims were either contract-related or lacked legal standing.

A Sudden Retreat from the Spotlight

After leaving Fox in 2016, Andrea Tantaros vanished from television. There were no new shows. Interviews stopped. Public appearances ended. For a time, even her social media presence faded.

Her official X bio still reads: “Journo, Political Analyst, Bestselling Author, NYDN Columnist, Fmr Press Sec. House Leader. Spox MA Gov, PA Sen. Fox News Escapee. Passionate Greek. Taken 🔱.” Her Instagram remains silent. She was inactive on X from 2017 through 2022, but began posting again in 2023 and stayed active through late 2024, with her last known update in November.

Her retreat sparked speculation. Meanwhile, others who came forward with workplace complaints at Fox returned to public life through books, media appearances, or advocacy work. Tantaros, in contrast, stayed off the screen, and mostly off the grid.

Where Is Andrea Tantaros Now?

As of 2025, Andrea Tantaros remains absent from television and public events, but she has not disappeared entirely. Despite earlier speculation, she was active on X.com throughout 2024, with her last post in November of that year. While she hasn’t made any official return to broadcasting, her presence on social media shows she’s still engaged, primarily sharing political commentary.

Her Instagram remains inactive, and there are no confirmed reports of current employment, media projects, or public appearances.

Tantaros’s legal disputes, including her 2016 harassment lawsuit and a 2017 surveillance claim, were dismissed or moved to arbitration. A separate ghostwriting dispute over her 2016 book Tied Up in Knots also remains part of her legal history.

Where her career goes next remains unclear. But one thing is certain: she hasn’t gone completely silent, even if she’s chosen to stay off the screen.
