Newsom Warns About Election Threats
On Tuesday, during an appearance on CBS’s The Late Show, Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) voiced serious concerns that former President Donald Trump is attempting to manipulate upcoming elections.
Learning From Opponents
Newsom emphasized the importance of understanding political strategies. “It’s not complicated. Divorce is not an option. We must find ways to live and work together across our differences,” he said. He highlighted lessons from past elections, noting that successful campaigns, including those led by figures like Charlie Kirk, offer valuable insights. “We spent an hour and a half discussing how they organize and build coalitions,” Newsom added.
Civil Engagement Matters
He stressed the need for dialogue and civil engagement. “We must learn from our opponents and confront our weaknesses. The Democratic Party has work to do to recover from past failures,” he said.
Facing the Reality
Newsom admitted that Democrats suffered major losses in the last election. “We are struggling to communicate and to regain the House majority,” he said. Beyond fundraising, Newsom is raising awareness about what he calls Trump’s attempts to rig elections.
A Warning for 2028
He delivered a stark warning about the future. “I fear we will not have an election in 2028 unless we wake up to this code red. We must recognize the seriousness of this moment and act soberly,” Newsom said, stressing the urgency for public awareness and action.
