Wolves Stood Still on the Tracks
A pack of wolves stood motionless on the tracks, trying to stop the train: when the driver looked more closely, he noticed what the wolves were actually guarding
A Quiet Winter Morning
It was a silent, icy morning. The train driver was following his usual route, everything looking ordinary. But suddenly, he spotted something unusual: right in front of him, a pack of wolves stood across the tracks.
They didn’t scatter, they didn’t run back into the woods as wolves usually do. Instead, they seemed to be blocking the train on purpose. Their golden eyes reflected in the headlights, and one after another they howled, long and loud, making the driver’s heart pound.
Startled, he slammed on the brakes. The wheels screeched, the train slid forward a few more meters, nearly clipping one of the wolves. Yet still, the animals refused to move. They stood their ground, holding back the giant steel machine.
A Strange Discovery

The Man in White
On the tracks lay a man dressed in white, motionless as if unconscious.
The driver jumped out of the cabin. The freezing air hit his face, but the wolves didn’t threaten him. Instead, they stepped aside, leaving space for him to approach the man.
It felt as though they understood: this human mattered, and they were guarding him.
The driver bent down and checked for a pulse. The man was alive, but his breathing was shallow. Quickly, the driver rubbed his hands and leaned close to keep him warm. Slowly, the stranger opened his eyes, lips trembling from the cold. With effort, he whispered:
— They… saved me…
What Really Happened
It turned out the man had been attacked and thrown onto the tracks, left there with no chance to escape.
But the wolves, sensing danger, had surrounded him and stood guard, refusing to let the train move forward until someone could help.
The driver called for help on the radio. While waiting for rescuers, he covered the man with everything he had—an old blanket, even his own jacket. The wolves stayed close, their eyes never leaving the scene.
A Silent Goodbye
When the emergency team finally arrived and carried the man away, the pack of wolves quietly retreated into the forest. Their mission was complete.
