Life can be difficult when you’re trying to navigate it as a trans individual. One trans woman is discovering this after trying to visit a gynecologist.

32-year-old Jessica Yaniv from Canada was recently experiencing some health difficulties and she decided to seek medical care from a gynecologist. She is upset, however, because she feels that she was judged by the doctor who refused to meet with her.

Now, Jessica is going online to express her frustration over the situation. She is also planning on seeking legal action against the doctor because the doctor had failed to justify her actions in not seeing her.

This issue was shared on Twitter, and Jessica was saying how she was shocked and felt totally mistreated. She said: “I’m so hurt, how is this behavior okay? This is a medical issue that I’m dealing with and to have doctors behave this way is unacceptable.”

Jessica went on to say how difficult it was to get referrals in the first place and then to have a gynecologist refuse her application and deny her appointment was unacceptable. They did so because they don’t accept or treat trans patients.

Online, there were also many who condemned the behavior of the doctor and wondered if it was legal. Jessica is now planning on filing a legal complaint against the practice. She would like to raise awareness on the issue as well.
