Ainsley Earhardt Starts a New Chapter, Marrying Sean Hannity After Previous Heartbreaks

Ainsley Earhardt is officially off the market and it’s been a long, emotional journey to get here.

The Fox & Friends co-host said “yes” to fellow Fox News star Sean Hannity over Christmas, confirming their engagement in a joint statement that quickly lit up headlines. The pair, long rumored to be dating, are now being called “the First Couple of Fox.” And while their fans are celebrating, Earhardt’s road to love hasn’t been without heartbreak.

A Lavish Wedding — and a Quiet Divorce

She’s been married twice before — both times ending in high-profile splits. Her first husband was Kevin McKinney, her college sweetheart from the University of South Carolina. They tied the knot in 2005 in a lavish wedding with 11 bridesmaids and 11 groomsmen at the governor’s mansion. The couple moved to San Antonio for Earhardt’s news career before relocating to New York City in 2007, when she joined Fox News.

At the time, Earhardt was focused on her professional ambitions. In an old interview, she confessed that she originally wanted to become an orthodontist, but her dreams shifted toward broadcasting and big-city life.

“I remember asking God, ‘Why was I born into this family in South Carolina?’” she told Elle“I love my family. But the way I grew up, you go to New York to visit maybe once in your life.”

That dream eventually came true — but the marriage didn’t last. Earhardt and McKinney quietly divorced in 2009. Neither has spoken publicly about the split, though Earhardt later admitted that she wasn’t ready to settle down or start a family back then.

“At the time, my focus was still on my career,” she said in a 2017 Women’s Health interview. “I wanted to have a bigger role at work and get established before even considering a family.”

A Second Chance — and Another Heartbreak

In 2012, she married again. This time to former Clemson quarterback Will Proctor, eight years her junior. The couple welcomed a daughter, Hayden, in 2015 after suffering a miscarriage. But by 2018, they had split amid rumors that Proctor had cheated with one of Ainsley’s close friends.

Sources at the time told DailyMail.com that Ainsley had “evidence” of the alleged affair and was deeply hurt by the betrayal.

“It was all the more devastating for Ainsley that he cheated with someone who she considered one of her closest friends,” one insider claimed. “She has evidence that proves the affair.”

Proctor denied the rumors, saying,

“There is not one ounce of truth to the allegation that I had an affair.”
He added that he was “devastated” and committed to being a good father, even if the marriage was ending.

Romance Confirmed

By 2020, the whispers about Sean Hannity and Ainsley Earhardt began to get louder. Vanity Fair reported that the two had been dating “for quite some time.” Then, in April 2023DailyMail.com published the first photos of them together, finally confirming what fans had long suspected.

Now, over the 2024 holiday season, the couple announced their engagement. Hannity reportedly proposed in their “home church,” a setting they described as “perfect” given their shared Christian faith.

“We are overjoyed and so thankful to our families for all of their love and support during this wonderful time in our lives,” the couple said in a statement.
“We actually made them aware this was happening ahead of time,” they added, referring to their ex-spouses. “Everyone is supportive of each other.”

Still Anchored in Their Careers

Though they live in different states, Hannity in Florida and Earhardt in New York, the couple has made their long-distance love work with regular weekend visits. According to Fox News, both have long-term contracts and will continue their careers on the network, with Earhardt co-hosting Fox & Friends and Hannity anchoring his primetime show.

A Long Road to a Happy Ending

Through public breakups, professional triumphs, and tabloid rumors, Ainsley Earhardt has emerged with a renewed sense of faith and a fiancé who shares her values. It may not have been a straight path, but it’s finally led to her happy ending — and she’s sharing it with the world.
