Adam Sandler questioned over ‘SNL: 50’ song calling out antisemitic musician

Don’t mess with the Sandman.

Adam Sandler is setting the record straight on the meaning behind a scathing lyric in his “SNL:50” song.

During the 50th anniversary special of “Saturday Night Live,” the comedian, 58, sang an original track titled “50 Years.”

Sandler co-wrote “50 Years” alongside “SNL” writer Dan Bulla.

In the track, the “Happy Gilmore” star belted out: “50 years of finding out your favorite musician is antisemitic.”

During an interview with Vulture, Sandler was asked if he had a certain musician in mind when writing the line.

Sandler responded, “Well, you know, whoever wants to grab that one, it’s up to them. I can’t say a specific, because, sadly, there’s been a few.”

Despite the actor not naming names, one rapper in particular thought the song was about them.

Following Sandler’s performance in February, Kanye West wrote in a since-deleted tweet, “Adam Sandler, thank you for the love.”

Earlier that month, the disgraced rapper, 48, posted multiple antisemitic tweets on X.

“Hitler was sooooo fresh,” one message read, while another said, “CALL ME YAYDOLF YITLER AND YOUR BITCH STILL WANTS TO F—.”

In a third tweet, Ye also claimed that Elon Musk “STOLE MY NAZI SWAG AT THE INAUGURATION” of Donald Trump.

Vulture also asked the “Murder Mystery” star if he felt there was anything the duo should have included in the tune.

“We had some extra, but we knew there was only so much time,” Sandler admitted to the outlet. “There’s nothing that we kicked ourselves in the ass about after this. There’s people you want to thank and people you want to mention in the song, but maybe they didn’t fit the rhyme, or whatever the hell it was.”

Bulla, who was also in the interview, added, “That’s the only thing: In that section, there’s a hundred other people you could have said. But we were sitting there saying, ‘You can’t kick yourself for that, or you’re gonna go crazy trying to do it.’”

“But we were definitely trying to be conscious of people throughout the show who were honored in different ways and not feeling too much pressure to mention somebody great who we love if we knew, earlier in the night, they had their own thing, and they were going to be celebrated,” the writer said.

Bulla noted that he and Sandler tried to “get a good balance of that.”

“But, like everything else with the show, there’s so many great people and so much great stuff. You can’t drive yourself crazy trying to take care of all of it.”

Along with West’s disturbing rant on X at the time, he also tried to sell a swastika T-shirt.

Rumors swirled that the musician’s marriage with wife Bianca Censori was on the rocks because of it.

“She’s had enough,” a source told The Post at the time. “The swastika shirt was the last straw. She told him that’s not who she is, and that she can’t be associated with that.”

The insider added, “It reflects on her, and she doesn’t want any part of that circus. He believes that she’ll come back to him, he’s saying that she’s just ‘mad at him,’ but right now she’s told him that she’s completely done.”

West’s rep, Milo Yiannopoulos, however, shut down speculation that the couple was headed for a divorce. They tied the knot in 2022 and are still together today.

Yiannopoulos shared with The Post in part: “Ye and Bianca are in Los Angeles, about to enjoy Valentine’s Day together.”

In May, West said he was no longer antisemitic.

“I am done with antisemitism,” he wrote on X.

“I love all people. God forgive me for the pain I’ve caused. I forgive those who have caused me pain. Thank you God,” he shared.

West suggested he made the change because he “simply got a FaceTime from my kids and I wanna save the world again…”

However, the Anti-Defamation League said it wasn’t “buying” West’s apology.

“We’ve seen this kind of attempted apology from Kanye before, only for him to back down over and over again,” a spokesperson for the ADL explained to Billboard.

“As the Jewish community mourns the deaths of two individuals outside of a Jewish Museum in yet another horrific antisemitic attack, it’s going to take a lot more than a couple of tweets to repair the damage of his antisemitic speech.”
