Barack and Michelle Finally Comment on Divorce Talks on Podcast

Michelle Obama Makes a Bold Podcast Debut

Michelle Obama may be new to podcasting, but she’s already making an impact. Her show, IMO, co-hosted with her brother Craig Robinson, has attracted a star-studded lineup — from comedians and musicians to motivational speakers. This week, the most notable guest yet appeared: former President Barack Obama.

A Rare, Unfiltered Conversation

The July 16 episode offered listeners a rare glimpse into the Obamas’ personal lives. They discussed young men’s futures — and addressed long-running rumors about their marriage.

“He actually cleared his schedule to join us,” Michelle said, smiling. Robinson quipped, “Wait… you two actually like each other?”

For years, speculation about the couple has swirled, fueled by events like Michelle skipping former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral and missing President Trump’s second inauguration. Social media buzz reached a peak earlier this year, with some claiming the marriage was over.

Michelle clarified her absences: therapy and personal boundaries, not marital trouble.

“The rumor mill is strong,” she laughed. “But this is my husband, everybody!”

Barack played along, joking, “She decided to take me back. It was touch and go there for a while.”

Addressing the Divorce Rumors

When Robinson commented on how nice it was to see both of them together, Michelle responded:
“Exactly — because if we’re not in the same place, people think we’ve split up.”

The conversation turned lighthearted when Robinson shared a story about a woman in Wichita relieved to learn the rumors were false. Barack admitted he rarely hears gossip unless someone on his staff mentions it.

Then Michelle grew serious:
“There hasn’t been a single moment where I thought about leaving my man. We’ve faced tough times but also incredible adventures. He’s made me a better person.”

Barack replied quickly: “Alright, don’t make me cry now.”

IMO: A New Chapter

IMO represents a fresh stage in Michelle’s life. She has expressed no interest in returning to politics. The podcast allows her and Robinson to answer listener questions, share childhood memories from Chicago, and reflect candidly on White House years.

“This stage of life is the first time I’ve felt completely free,” Michelle told listeners — a sentiment resonating with her growing audience.

Light, Candid, and Heartfelt

Between humor, heartfelt moments, and occasional teasing, the Obamas’ appearance on IMO demonstrates their enduring bond. It’s clear: decades of marriage haven’t dulled their affection — or their ability to make listeners laugh.
