In an amusing twist, US leader Donald Trump’s own chatbot has said one of his political predecessors was ‘better’ than him, and he likely won’t be very happy about it.

Available to all users of the 79-year-old’s Truth Social platform, artificially intelligent tool Truth Search was asked ‘Who is the most popular US president of this century?’ and it pulled out a doozy of an answer.

The AI feature is developed by the firm Perplexity, which promised ‘direct, reliable answers’ upon its launch, and to ‘bring powerful AI to an audience with important questions’.

As is the case with other bots, Truth Search consumes enormous loads of information from across the worldwide web to make conclusions.

Its creators are partially powerless in controlling what it comes up with, and they’ve asked a few questions that the AI answered in a way that may displease the POTUS, as it pretty much contradicts what he’s said in the past.

Its response to that presidential question was as follows: “The answer depends on how ‘most popular’ is measured (average job approval while in office vs. peak favorability after leaving office).

“Using standard approval metrics, George W. Bush holds the highest single-month peak approval (around 90% after 9/11), while Barack Obama has the highest sustained average favorability in post-presidency among 21st‑century presidents.”

Per The Washington Post, however, the tool did mention that ‘conservative commentators’ had often named Trump as the best.

“Different groups and surveys prioritize different qualities,” it revealed.

This is just one example of Truth Search’s apparent betrayal of Trump, as the chatbot also rallied against its master by claiming his newly introduced tariffs are a tax on US citizens. It also said that the 2020 election was not stolen from him, and that his family’s cryptocurrency investments stink of conflicts of interest in its eyes.

Reacting to the bot’s contradictory declarations, one social media user joked: “We need more chatbots like that.”

“Someone’s getting fired,” joked another, while a third individual wrote: “Unlike Trump it would appear his chatbot ‘speaks’ the truth.”

Meanwhile, it recently became known that Trump has demoted Obama’s presidential portrait to a secretive area in the White House.

Originally unveiled in 2022 and then hung in the building’s grand staircase, it’s reported by CNN that a picture of Trump’s assassination survival now gathers dust there.

Obama’s latest pictorial home is now only accessible by a minority of White House staff – restricted to just members of the first family, US Secret Service agents and executive residents.

Multiple sources also told CNN that Trump is directly involved in any aspect of the White House’s appearance, which has lit a fire on social media.

One Reddit user called him ‘hilarious and insecure’, while another added: “Man. Trump is microscopic with all the petty s**t he pulls. He can’t help himself, he’s so insecure.”

A third person shared: “Hiding Obama’s portrait will not prevent him from living rent free in Trumps puny mind.”

California governor Gavin Newsom even ripped into Trump after hearing the news that the Obama portrait had been swapped out.

His press office took to X and shared a report on the story and commented: “Small men hide from history’s giants.”
