Residency Postponed: Kelly Clarkson Steps Back From Vegas To Support Family In Crisis

Kelly Clarkson has postponed her Las Vegas residency again — but this time, she’s explaining why.

The 43-year-old singer shared that her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, is dealing with a health issue, and her main focus right now is being there for their kids.

The star took to her Instagram Wednesday night to explain the situation to her fans.

“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas.

While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.

I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.”

Clarkson and her ex-husband, 48, share two kids: River, 10, and Remington, 8.

She was scheduled to perform next on Friday, August 8, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

This is the second time Clarkson has canceled shows for her “Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions – The Las Vegas Residency” since it began last month, according to the New York Post.

On the day her residency was set to begin—Friday, July 4—Clarkson announced she was postponing the first two shows.

She said the delay was due to vocal issues.

Some sources said Clarkson’s first residency delay “blindsided” her team. Others told Page Six she was dealing with “hidden battles” that caused both emotional and physical stress.

She’s going through a really complicated time personally, one insider added.

Her troubled residency follows a mysterious break from The Kelly Clarkson Show earlier this year.

In March, Clarkson missed 10 episodes of her NBC talk show, with guest hosts filling in. Andy Cohen also stepped in as a surprise host the following month. Clarkson later said she took time off for personal reasons.

However, sources say her absence was due to her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, falling ill. The two were married in 2013 and divorced in 2020 after a messy split, which was finalized in 2022.

Clarkson’s Las Vegas residency is currently set to wrap up on November 15.
