At 82, Juliet Mills still has her younger husband by her side

It’s not out of the ordinary to see a couple that is not exactly balanced when it comes to age. When it happens to a celebrity, however, many people seem to have an opinion.

That is where Julian Mills comes in. She was a child star but now she is 82 and she has been married for 40 years. It’s also noteworthy that her husband is 20 years younger than she is.

At first, many people wondered if the marriage was going to last because of the difference in their age. Both of them were in the entertainment industry, and they built on that along with a real love for each other in order to last a long time.

In 1966, Mills worked along with James Stewart in the Western film, The Rare Breed. That was really her breakout role and then in 1970, she landed a role in the series: “Nanny and the Professor.”

Even after the comedy series was over she was still looking back on the memories with a smile on her face. She said: “I’m very proud of it and have very, very happy memories of it. I’m still recognized all over the place for that as much as anything I’ve ever done, which is extraordinary.”

She met her husband, Maxwell Caulfield when he was cast alongside her for the play, The Elephant Man. He was also well known for working in the film, Grease 2.

When she described meeting her future husband, she said it was love at first sight. She went on to say: “We were instant friends, immediately attracted.”

She also said that the romance was ‘full-blown’ and ‘instantaneous for us both.’ Their first date was to see a Broadway play after being invited by Natalie Wood.

Caulfield was 21 years old when he married Mills in 1980. Many people wondered if they would be able to last, but they have been together ever since. It’s interesting to note that some of those who were close to them, including her father, didn’t have a problem with the age gap.

Her father said: “It’s irrelevant. If you find someone you want to share your life with, it doesn’t matter if they are black or white, old or young, or what they are – it’s a soulmate.”

Caulfield planned the wedding that took place on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Malibu. They had a small reception at her Beverly Hills home. It was decorated with fairy lights and archways, so it was a beautiful event.

He admits that she ‘brings out the romantic in me.’

He also said that she keeps him young. They have been married for 44 years and continue to be seen in public and on social media.

It’s lovely to see when a married couple is able to last as long as this. We wish them many more happy years together.
