Robin Williams’ past remarks about Trump resurface in viral video

Robin Williams’ Old Trump Clip Resurfaces — And Fans Say He Was “Ahead of His Time”

A resurfaced clip of the late Robin Williams mocking Donald Trump during a 2012 stand-up performance is going viral—and viewers are calling it “eerily accurate” and “kind of profound.”

A Legend Remembered

Robin Williams, known for his rapid-fire wit and beloved roles in Mrs. DoubtfireGood Will Hunting, and Aladdin, left a lasting legacy when he tragically d**d by su**ide in 2014 at age 63. Over his decades-long career, he won numerous awards, including an Oscar, multiple Golden Globes, and Grammys.

Before becoming a movie icon, Williams began in stand-up comedy in the mid-1970s. Now, more than a decade after one of his shows, his words are resonating again.

Williams on Trump: “A Scary Man”

The viral clip, recorded in 2012, shows Williams riffing on a Thanksgiving trip to Atlantic City. He compared it to “The Wizard of Oz on acid,” filled with “junkies, pimps, and pizza, oh my!” Then he turned his attention to Donald Trump:

“Donald Trump is the Wizard of Oz. He plays Monopoly with real f**king buildings. This is a scary man.”

At the time, Trump was still best known as a real estate mogul. He had launched several casinos in Atlantic City—Trump Plaza, Trump’s Castle, and the Trump Taj Mahal. All would eventually struggle or close.

Pageants and Pet Stores?

Williams didn’t stop there. He joked about Trump’s ownership of beauty pageants:

“He owns all these beauty pageants—Miss America, Miss Universe. Isn’t that a bit like Michael Vick owning a series of pet stores?”

(Vick, a former NFL quarterback, had been convicted in a dogfighting case in 2007 and served prison time.)

Mocking the Hair and Comments About Ivanka

The comedian also mocked Trump’s infamous hairstyle, claiming:

“I believe the hair is the Donald. The body is just the maintenance system.”

He also jabbed at Trump’s controversial comments about his daughter Ivanka:

“Even people in Arkansas went, ‘That’s f**king wrong.’”

Fans React: “He Is Missed”

Fans flocked to social media to praise the clip, many saying Williams “nailed it” years before Trump entered politics. One Reddit user called it “kind of profound,” while others expressed how deeply they still miss the comedian.

“One of the funniest, most endearing humans to ever exist,” one fan wrote.
“He will always be missed—and forever remembered for generations,” added another.
