On a quiet street near the square, passers-by noticed a strange picture: a German shepherd was throwing herself at the edge of the sidewalk.
She wasn’t just barking — her bark was persistent, pushy, as if she was trying to call for help.
The dog sniffed a metal hatch, then freezing, then sharply throwing to the side, then returning to the place again.
At times she scratched her paws on the lid, jumped on it, and then began to howl. Her concern was so obvious that it no longer looked like normal street dog behavior.
The passers-by didn’t add value at first.
“I guess I’ve found food,” said themselves.
- Or the mouse downstairs felt it,” others suggested.
But the dog didn’t back down. She kept returning to the hatch, running in a circle, barking loudly and looking at people – straight, pleading.
