After filming the CEO and employee at the Coldplay concert, the woman behind the viral video discloses her earnings

Coldplay Concert Clip Goes Viral—But the Woman Behind It Didn’t Profit

Grace Springer, the woman who filmed the now-viral Coldplay concert moment featuring CEO Andy Byron and HR head Kristin Cabot, has confirmed she hasn’t made a dime from the footage.

The Moment That Sparked a Scandal

Last week, Coldplay’s performance at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, turned controversial when cameras caught Byron—married to Megan Kerrigan Byron—swaying closely with Cabot on the massive jumbotron. The clip quickly spread online, prompting speculation and outrage.

Even Coldplay frontman Chris Martin weighed in, joking:

“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy. Hope we didn’t do something wrong!”

No Monetization, Just Mayhem

Appearing on ITV’s This Morning on July 21, Springer told hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond that she hasn’t earned anything from the viral video.

“I’ve actually made no money from the video itself or the views,” she said. “It’s not monetised.”

Springer explained she filmed the moment hoping to catch herself on the screen. At first, she didn’t think much of the footage. But with over 50,000 people at the concert, word spread fast.

“Everyone was chattering,” she said. “Later, when I debriefed with friends and rewatched it, we realized—it really does look that bad.”

125 Million Views, Zero Regrets?

Despite the video racking up more than 125 million views, Springer says she has no major regrets about uploading it.

“I definitely feel for Andy’s wife, Megan, and everyone else who’s been hurt,” she said. “But I’m not the only one who caught it. If I didn’t post it, someone else would have.”

Fallout at Astronomer

The viral video triggered a formal investigation at Astronomer, the software company Byron led. Both he and Cabot were placed on leave. Days later, the company confirmed Byron’s resignation.

“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability,” a spokesperson said. “That standard was not met. Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board has accepted.”

Astronomer co-founder Pete DeJoy has stepped in as interim CEO.
