White House Press Secretary Marks Son’s First Birthday with Adorable Video

Karoline Leavitt Balances White House Role and Motherhood with Heartwarming Tribute to Son

Niko Turns One
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt gave followers a tender glimpse into her life as a mom, posting a sweet video to celebrate her son’s first birthday. Her son, Nicholas Robert Riccio — affectionately called “Niko” — turned one on July 11.

A Year in Moments
The video featured a touching montage of Niko’s first year. It included joyful giggles, food-covered cheeks, and heartwarming family moments. One clip showed Karoline tossing him playfully in the air inside the White House. Another showed her feeding him ice cream and cuddling on the sofa.

Family Cameos Add to the Love
Little Niko also appeared laughing in his highchair, clapping with delight, and beaming in a Santa suit on his mother’s shoulder. His father, Nicholas Riccio, joined the montage, sharing tender playtime moments and hugs with his son.

Leavitt’s Loving Message
Alongside the video, Karoline wrote:
“Today my sweet, happy, sensitive, funny, and handsome baby turned one… There are no words to describe how much I love this little boy. Mama and Dada love you so much.”

From Pregnancy to Parenthood
Karoline had shared her pregnancy journey back in April 2024, posting photos in a blue dress cradling her baby bump. Her caption read, “Adding ‘boy mom’ to my title soon… I’m so grateful for all of the blessings God has given me.”

In July 2024, she posted Niko’s newborn photos. One captured him in a blue onesie and hat, another showed Karoline gazing into his cradle, and a third depicted the two lying face to face.
She wrote:
“The moment our son was born. The moment I became a mom. The best moment of my life.”

Motherhood in the West Wing
Despite the demands of her job, Karoline never puts motherhood second. Margo Martin, a White House colleague, once captured her multitasking — typing with one hand and feeding Niko with the other.
“Super Mom!” Martin captioned the photo.

Another moment showed Karoline and her husband posing outside the West Wing, proudly holding Niko. The family photo sparked even more comments, with fans debating who Niko resembled most.

Adorable Family Details
Comments ranged from “He’s his dad’s twin!” to “He’s just like his mama!” Fans also noticed a humorous detail: Niko had lost a sock in the photo.
One user wrote, “My kids always kicked off a sock at photo time too!”

A Joy Shared with the Nation
Karoline Leavitt continues to serve at the highest level of government while embracing the joys of motherhood. Her posts, filled with warmth and authenticity, show a leader who remains deeply devoted to her family.
