Nataliya Kuznetsova stands out from typical female bodybuilders

Nataliya Kuznetsova: Defying Norms in the World of Bodybuilding

Keeping ourselves in shape benefits both body and soul. For most, it means taking a walk or light daily exercise. But for 33-year-old Nataliya Kuznetsova, a professional Russian bodybuilder, staying fit looks very different.

A World Champion Like No Other

Nataliya holds world records in arm lifting, bench press, and deadlift. Seeing her impressive physique makes these titles believable. Yet, she’s not your typical female athlete. Her lifestyle revolves around building strength and muscle mass.

Breaking Stereotypes and Embracing Individuality

Everyone deserves the right to look and live as they wish. No one should face judgment for their appearance. At Newsner, we celebrate people who challenge society’s beauty standards. Nataliya is a perfect example of this courage and determination.

Early Passion for Powerlifting

Born in Siberia in 1991, Nataliya grew up active and drawn to combat sports. At 14, she started powerlifting, weighing just 80 pounds. Under coach Alexei Ivanov’s guidance, she trained hard with a focus on strength, not just muscle size.

Rapid Progress and Early Success

By 17, Nataliya weighed 150 pounds and could bench press 220 pounds — all before discovering protein shakes. Her dedication paid off, leading to multiple championship wins and records.

Record-Breaking Achievements

Nataliya’s list of titles is impressive:

  • 2014 Cup of Eurasia Champion

  • 2015 Eastern Europe GPA Champion

  • European bench press and deadlift titles

Her personal bests include a 374-pound bench press and a 530-pound deadlift. Standing 5’7” and weighing around 220 pounds off-season, she proudly calls herself the “World’s Most Muscular Woman.”

More Than Muscle

Nataliya isn’t just an athlete. She graduated from the Moscow State Academy of Physical Culture and once performed in a production at Russia’s Bolshoi Theatre. Today, she lives in Moscow with her husband Vladislav Kuznetsov, also a bodybuilder.

Overcoming Challenges

Early in her career, Nataliya struggled financially. Sponsorships were scarce, so she funded training and competitions herself. However, social media changed everything. Viral posts showcasing her powerful physique earned her sponsorships from nutrition brands like Oxytropin and RPS Nutrition.

Facing Criticism and Celebrating Support

Though some critics have insulted her appearance, Nataliya dismisses them as insecure. She values the love and admiration from her growing fanbase, which includes over one million Instagram followers. She regularly shares workout tips and glimpses into her life.

Choices and Controversies

Nataliya admits she once considered growth hormones but chose not to use them. She has used estrogen blockers and other performance enhancers, though these are banned in many sports. After briefly retiring in 2017, she returned to competition and began coaching others.

Following Dreams or Madness?

Nataliya Kuznetsova’s life challenges conventional ideas about femininity and strength. Is she inspiring for boldly pursuing her passion, or is this extreme? Share your thoughts, but please keep the conversation respectful.
