White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has once again become the center of attention—this time for a fashion statement that some found contradictory. Over the weekend, Leavitt posted a photo on Instagram, which quickly stirred both praise and criticism from followers.
Leavitt Takes a Jab at France
The backlash stemmed from Leavitt’s recent strong remarks about France. After a French politician suggested that the Statue of Liberty, which was a gift from France, should be returned, Leavitt did not hold back in her response.

“My advice to that unnamed low-level French politician would be to remind them that it’s only because of the United States of America that the French are not speaking German right now, so they should be very grateful to our great country.”
Her direct response resonated with many but also sparked heated discussions online. However, it wasn’t just her words that had people talking—it was what she was carrying.
Luxury Handbag Draws Attention
Despite her critical stance on France, Leavitt was seen holding a Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM tote, a designer handbag from one of the country’s most famous luxury brands. The $2,030 accessory didn’t go unnoticed.

While some called out the apparent contradiction, many of her supporters rallied to her defense.

She shared a heartwarming snapshot of the toddler helping her bake, captioning it:
