In one message, Musk appeared to concur with another Twitter user that Trump ought to be removed from office and replaced as president by his vice president, JD Vance.

The person in question posted: “President vs Elon. Who wins? My money’s on Elon. Trump should be impeached and JD Vance should replace him.”

Musk added ‘yes’ next to the tweet and shared it again.

A picture of Musk taken a few months ago has become the subject of comments after the startling repercussions.

In the image, Musk is wearing a cap that reads, “Trump was right about everything.”

The picture didn’t exactly age well, as many people noted.

On Reddit, someone shared the image and commented, “This aged well.”

Another person remarked, “Aged like a fine milk.”

The billionaire’s criticism of Trump’s “big beautiful bill” appears to be the root of the disagreement. The controversial bill’s main provisions include not taxing Social Security, overtime, or tips.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has come out in the midst of Musk and Trump’s escalating feud, calling Musk’s outburst against the President a “unfortunate episode.”

“This is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the One Big Beautiful Bill because it does not include the policies he wanted,” Leavitt said in an interview with CNN.

“The President is focused on passing this historic piece of legislation and making our country great again.”

Since then, Leavitt has discussed the issue in more detail on Hannity on Fox News.

“Just days ago, Elon thanked the president for his incredible leadership to cut waste and fraud in our government, which this one big beautiful bill does,” she said in response to a question concerning the conflict between the two.

She added, “The only difference between Friday and today is Elon went back to his companies and as a businessman, he has a right to speak for his companies, but as president, President Trump has a responsibility to fight for this country.”
