Sharon Osbourne’s dramatically frail appearance has sparked fresh concern among fans after recent photos in Los Angeles showed the 72-year-old looking noticeably gaunt and hollow-eyed.
The TV personality and former X Factor judge, who has lost over 42 pounds, revealed the weight loss is due to the use of Ozempic—a diabetes drug that has become a controversial weight-loss aid.
Sharon has been open about her experience with the medication, admitting she “didn’t actually want to go this thin.” During an April 2024 interview with Howie Mandel, she explained, “I can’t put on weight now, and I don’t know what it’s done to my metabolism, but I just can’t seem to put any on, because I think I went too far.”
Despite dropping to just over seven stone (98 pounds), Sharon says her body has hit a plateau. “I need to put on 10lb, but however much I eat, I stay the same weight,” she told the Daily Mail. She also admitted the struggle has taken a toll on her emotionally and physically: “I’ve had enough. I’ve given up on all interventions.”
In candid remarks, Sharon also acknowledged her past pursuit of aesthetic perfection: “I couldn’t have much more facial surgery — there’s not that much skin left to stretch, pull or cut. And I won’t have any more fillers or Botox.” Now, she’s decided to stop altering her appearance altogether. “This is me. It’s finally time to leave well alone.”
While Sharon battles the side effects of rapid weight loss, the Osbourne family is also dealing with another crisis—Ozzy Osbourne’s declining health. The rock legend, 75, is reportedly “too ill to fly” back to the U.K., sparking concerns over whether he will ever return home again.
Ozzy has faced a long list of health complications in recent years, including Parkinson’s disease, multiple surgeries, and ongoing spinal issues. Sharon previously confirmed that her husband’s condition makes it “impossible to travel” long distances. The couple had hoped to relocate back to the U.K., but those plans appear indefinitely on hold.
Meanwhile, fans were struck by Sharon’s recent public appearances. Stepping out in Los Angeles with daughter Aimee, 41, she wore beige trousers, a crisp white shirt, and a noticeably slim frame.
On another outing, she went makeup-free, revealing a pale complexion and pronounced jawline—leading many to question the toll Ozempic and stress have taken on her.
In a previous interview on Club Random with Bill Maher, Sharon admitted the initial side effects of Ozempic were brutal: “You’re not hungry, but for me… the first few weeks were f**king sh*t because you just throw up all the time and feel so nauseous.”*
From battling intense side effects to facing the heartbreak of a sick spouse, Sharon’s recent struggles paint a sobering picture behind the glamorous public persona.
