Prince Harry hasn’t been a working member of the royal family since 2020, but would that ever change? According to sources who spoke to In Touch, the answer is no. It doesn’t matter if Prince Harry would like that to change or not. The heir to the throne, Prince William, has “shut the door” because he does not trust his younger brother.
One source explained, “William doesn’t think Harry has the smarts to handle even a reduced role in the Firm.” To make it even clearer, the source said, “In other words, he thinks his brother is stupid and foolishly adheres to bad advice.”
Another palace insider explained that William thinks his brother’s wife Meghan Markle manipulates him. The insider called Markle “conniving.”
An insider shared William’s confusion about why Harry has done so many things to build a wall between himself and his family such as all the secrets he revealed in his memoir “Spare” and his Oprah interview. The insider said, “William wondered why his brother would burn bridges with his family and the opportunities royal life gave him and his wife to further the humanitarian causes they claim to support.”
In the end, William decided that Harry burned these bridges because he isn’t very smart. The insider said that William “came to the conclusion Harry is too dense to see the damage he’s done.”
How are the couple supporting themselves without the royal family? Well, they had several entertainment related deals including a $20 million deal with Spotify and a $100 million deal with Netflix, but those aren’t panning out the way everyone expected. Spotify killed the deal, and the Netflix deal may not work out either. Netflix has already axed Meghan’s animated project called “Pearl,” and the timing was off when they announced Harry’s polo series around the same time Harry’s sister-in-law Princess Catherine announced she was undergoing chemotherapy.
It seems that the two brothers are far from seeing eye to eye. While sources make it clear that William doesn’t want Harry to be a working member of the royal family anymore, Harry seems to be waiting for an apology. The younger prince has shared that he is willing to return to some royal duties if his brother says he’s sorry.
According to a source, “William told pals Harry is daft in the head for even suggesting such a thing.” The source added, “It’s not going to happen. Queen Elizabeth, rest her soul, already made it clear to Harry there would be no half-and- half. It was either you’re in or you’re out.”
Meanwhile, it sounds like William thinks Harry is the one who has a lot to be sorry about but is too dense to realize it. The insider shared, “As far as William is concerned, he’s content to keep his brother at a safe distance across the Atlantic. He’s not doing it to hurt Harry, but to protect the monarchy. He believes his brother’s lack of intelligence is a danger to the throne, Britain and himself!”
