People aren’t holding back after Trump’s holiday rant

A Somber Holiday Takes a Turn

Memorial Day is meant to honor the fallen. But this year, Donald Trump shifted the focus—using the solemn day to air personal grievances.

A Fiery Online Outburst

Instead of unity, Trump launched a full-blown tirade on Truth Social. In all caps, he attacked President Joe Biden, labeled his administration “scum,” and lashed out at judges who ruled against him.
His message echoed the tone of past holiday posts—confrontational and accusatory rather than reflective.

Trump posted:

“Happy Memorial Day to all, including the scum that spent the last four years trying to destroy our country…”

He blamed Biden for illegal immigration, criticized judges, and warned of criminals flooding the nation.

A More Measured Tone at Arlington

Earlier that day, Trump attended the wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. He stood beside Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
There, Trump struck a different tone—honoring fallen heroes with emotional stories and heartfelt words.

He paid tribute to Corporal Ryan McGee, a 21-year-old from Fredericksburg, Virginia, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Trump recognized McGee’s mother in the audience, saying:

“All of America shares in your grief—and your pride in your wonderful son.”

He also praised America’s military legacy:

“Their valor gave us the freest, greatest Republic ever to exist…a Republic I am fixing after a hard four years.”

Back to Campaign Rhetoric

But the solemn moment didn’t last long.

Trump quickly returned to familiar talking points—blasting immigration policy, criticizing elites, and mocking political rivals.
He called the border crisis “indescribable” and accused President Biden of enabling chaos.
Trump even reignited his feud with Harvard and reposted a message calling Biden a “decrepit corpse.”

Public Reaction Erupts

Many Americans didn’t take kindly to Trump’s words. While some defended his blunt style, others saw it as deeply disrespectful on such a sacred day.
Social media lit up with backlash, especially over his aggressive Truth Social post.

As the country paused to remember its fallen heroes, Trump’s blend of tribute, attack, and self-promotion sparked intense debate.

What Do You Think?

Was this just another example of Trump being Trump? Or did he cross a line on a day meant for remembrance?

Let us know where you stand.
