Vance Criticizes CBS Anchor Brennan Over Remarks About Tulsi Gabbard

Vance Defends Gabbard’s Intelligence Nomination

Vice President J.D. Vance came to Tulsi Gabbard’s defense after CBS anchor Margaret Brennan questioned her nomination for Director of National Intelligence.

Pushback Against Media Criticism

During the interview, Brennan cited concerns from The Wall Street Journal and National Review. Both outlets criticized Gabbard’s past views on Edward Snowden and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Vance fired back, claiming those publications had “lost relevance.” He stressed that it’s the American people—not the media—who decide who belongs in the president’s cabinet.

Gabbard’s Record Takes Center Stage

Vance praised Gabbard’s military service and her strong public record. He argued that her leadership could help rebuild public trust in U.S. intelligence agencies, which he said had grown too politicized.

Firm Stand Despite Repeated Questions

Even as Brennan pressed him further, Vance didn’t waver. He continued to emphasize Gabbard’s qualifications.
Meanwhile, Gabbard appears to have the support she needs in the Senate. Lawmakers including Lisa Murkowski and Bill Cassidy have publicly backed her nomination.
