A Viral Photo Sparks Buzz
A recent photo of legendary actor Tom Cruise and Australian entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins is turning heads online — and not just because of their latest blockbuster.
Captured during a press event in London for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, the image shows 62-year-old Cruise standing beside 70-year-old Wilkins after an interview. At first glance, it seems like a typical celebrity photo. But fans quickly noticed one glaring detail — the height difference.
Fans Zero In on Height
Wilkins, who stands 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 meters) tall, appeared to tower over Cruise, reportedly 5 feet 6 inches (1.7 meters). Though Wilkins stood closer to the camera, the perspective only intensified the contrast.
Social media users didn’t hold back.
“Tom looks like he just popped out of a Kinder Surprise egg,” one person joked.
Another added, “This photo looks warped — like it’s been edited or something.”
A third wrote, “There’s no way Cruise likes that photo floating around.”
Wilkins Praises Cruise
On Instagram, Wilkins captioned the post:
“Always great catching up with the incredible @tomcruise.”
He called the new film “bigger, faster, higher, deeper” and praised Cruise’s energy and work ethic.
“He keeps raising the bar… and then jumping over it,” Wilkins added.
Yet, fans seemed more curious about the photo’s proportions than the glowing review.

Cruise Reflects on Stunt Work
Shifting focus from the height talk, Wilkins asked Cruise about his earliest stunt. Surprisingly, Cruise skipped past Risky Business and went further back.
“I think it started when I was about three,” Cruise said with a grin.
“I used to climb out of windows and onto the roof at night just to look at the stars. It’s just always been a part of me.”
When asked if he ever gets scared performing stunts, Cruise remained calm and candid.
“It’s not that I don’t feel fear,” he explained. “I just don’t let it stop me. I don’t mind being scared — it pushes me.”
Critics Praise The Final Reckoning
The buzz doesn’t stop with the viral photo. Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is making headlines for its $400 million budget and non-stop action.
Early reviews are glowing.
“An absolute adrenaline rush,” said Anthony Gagliardi.
“Cruise proves once again that he’s the king of cinematic spectacle.”
Erik Davis from Fandango called it “the wildest and most consequential Mission movie to date.” Meanwhile, Dave Baldwin called it “pulse-pounding, gasp-inducing, and wildly entertaining.”
Cruise Still Dominates
With viral moments and rave reviews, Cruise once again proves why he remains one of Hollywood’s most bankable and watchable stars.
