Alan Jackson Breaks His Silence at 66, A Heartbreaking Announcement About His Health

Country Legend Alan Jackson Delivers Emotional Final Tour Announcement

On Friday, May 17, 2025, country music icon Alan Jackson stood before a sold-out crowd in Milwaukee and shared the news fans had long feared—but hoped would never come.

“This is the last road show of my career,” the 66-year-old said through tears, closing out his Last Call: One More for the Road Tour with an emotional farewell that drew a standing ovation and left fans in tears.

A Career That Shaped Country Music

Just nine days after performing “Remember When” at the 2025 ACM Awards—a performance that earned him thunderous applause and online praise—Jackson officially confirmed what many had suspected. The Milwaukee stop would be the final tour date of his career.

But there’s a silver lining for fans not ready to say goodbye.

“We’re planning on doing a big finale show in Nashville next summer sometime,” he told the crowd. “It just felt like I had to end it all where it all started. And that’s in Nashville, Tennessee. Music City.”

 Battling Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease

Jackson has long been open about his ongoing health battle. In 2021, he revealed his diagnosis with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a hereditary condition that leads to progressive muscle weakness and atrophy, particularly in the arms and legs.

“It’s been affecting me for years, and it’s getting more and more obvious,” he previously shared in an interview. “Now I’m having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone. I just want people to know that’s why I look like I do.”

The degenerative nerve disease, passed down from his father, has made touring increasingly difficult—but Jackson’s voice, spirit, and presence remain as powerful as ever.

A Legacy That Will Never Fade

From “Livin’ on Love” to “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning),” Alan Jackson has left an indelible mark on the genre. With over 75 million records sold, countless awards, and an unshakable connection to his fans, his place in country music history is firmly cemented.

At Friday’s show, he expressed his gratitude for a career filled with decades of music, memories, and unwavering fan support:

“Y’all gonna make me tear up out here,” he said, visibly emotional. “I’m so thankful for all the love through the years.

What’s Next for the Country Legend?

While fans will no longer see Jackson on the road, the promise of one final show in Nashville offers a chance to celebrate his legacy in the city where it all began.

📅 Stay tuned for more details about Alan Jackson’s Nashville farewell concert, expected in Summer 2026.
