Swifties vs. Trump: A Clash Ignites
If there’s one fanbase you don’t want to anger, it’s Taylor Swift’s fiercely loyal Swifties. Yet, Donald Trump did exactly that.
Swift Endorses Harris
In September 2024, Taylor Swift shared her political stance on Instagram. She announced her support for Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election.
“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior,” Swift wrote. She called Harris “a steady-handed, gifted leader” and stressed the need for calm over chaos in U.S. leadership.
Trump Responds With Fury
Shortly after Swift’s post, Trump lashed out on his Truth Social platform. He posted, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” without offering any explanation.
In a later Fox News interview, he doubled down, saying he wasn’t a fan of the singer and claimed, “She’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
Another Unexpected Jab
On May 16, Trump returned to Truth Social with another swipe. “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” he wrote, again offering no further comment.
Despite his dig, Swift remains a global sensation. Her record-shattering Eras Tour made her the richest female musician in the world.
Critics Join the Conversation
Even political figures jumped in. Democratic strategist and former Harris adviser Mike Nellis pointed out:
“Walmart and other retailers are hiking up prices because of tariffs, and he’s panicked—so now we’re seeing BS distractions, like attacking Taylor Swift. That might work when you’re a candidate, but not when you’re president.”
