Even the granddaughter of a U.S. president isn’t immune to a little family embarrassment.

Kai Trump, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, opened up in a recent YouTube Q&A session about a particularly awkward moment involving her grandfather, former President Donald Trump.

Trump’s Playful Comment Leaves Kai Mortified

 

While answering fan questions, Kai recalled a moment on the golf course when her grandfather’s larger-than-life personality took center stage.

“My most embarrassing moment with my grandpa was when I brought one of my guy friends to play golf,” she recalled. “Right away, he goes, ‘Oh my God! Look how handsome your boyfriend is!’”

The unexpected comment caught Kai off guard, making for a cringeworthy situation.

“I was so embarrassed because, like, he has a girlfriend,” she added, laughing. “That was just awkward. That’s my most embarrassing moment ever.”

Another Uncomfortable Encounter—But She’s Keeping Quiet

Kai also mentioned another moment where her grandfather met a guy she was talking to—but this time, she left out the details.

 

“He embarrassed me again when he met a guy I was talking to,” she teased. “But I’m not telling what happened there.”

While she may have been mortified in the moment, it’s clear Kai has a deep admiration for her famous grandfather.

The Biggest Lesson She’s Learned from Donald Trump

During the Q&A, Kai didn’t just share embarrassing family moments—she also reflected on what she’s learned from the 45th and now 47th president of the United States.

“He’s taught me to never give up,” she said. “If I have a dream, always try to achieve that dream and never stop trying because one day, it will happen.”

She then pointed to her grandfather’s historic political comeback.

“He’s president of the United States again, so never give up on your dreams!”

Kai’s Celebrity Crush Has Her Blushing

Elsewhere in the video, Kai let fans in on her biggest celebrity crush—and it turns out she’s a big fan of Netflix’s Outer Banks.

 

She first reached for her phone to check the actor’s name before stopping herself.

“Why do I need my phone?” she laughed. “He is Drew Starkey, and he’s on Outer Banks.”

As she admitted her admiration for the 31-year-old actor, who plays Rafe Cameron in the hit series, she couldn’t help but giggle.

“Oh my God, I’m blushing now!” she said.

Kai’s Message to Her Grandfather After His Election Victory

Last month, after Donald Trump secured his 2024 election win over Kamala Harris, Kai took to social media to congratulate her grandfather.

“No one works harder or cares more about the American people,” she tweeted shortly after the results were announced.

 

“Congratulations Grandpa, I love you!”

She followed up with a heartwarming family photo from the Trump campaign’s watch party in West Palm Beach, Florida, celebrating alongside her grandfather and other family members.
