Tension Mounts Behind the Scenes
ABC’s The View is facing internal strain as co-hosts feel growing pressure to ease up on their criticisms of President Trump. This directive coincides with sweeping layoffs at the network, creating a stressful environment for the production team.
Executive Orders: Tone It Down
According to insiders, Executive Producer Brian Teta recently urged the panel—Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro—to moderate their rhetoric. His request reportedly came in the lead-up to Trump’s second inauguration, signaling a notable shift in ABC’s approach to political commentary.
Ratings Strong, Morale Weak
Despite drawing 2.6 million viewers over the past month, backstage morale has dropped. At least nine staff members, including veteran producers Jamie Hammer and Audrey Jones, were let go as part of cost-cutting measures.
“There’s a sense of unease,” one staffer revealed. “People feel like they’re just waiting for the next round of firings.”
Disney’s Broader Restructuring
ABC’s layoffs are part of a larger shake-up under Disney, which has been reducing staff since October. The uncertainty has left teams on edge.
