According to a former White House official, underground cities were quietly developed

A Bombshell Claim: Secret Underground Cities

A former Bush administration official has shocked the public by claiming the U.S. government secretly built an underground world. This hidden network, she says, aims to protect the ultra-wealthy from a potential “near extinction event.”

Yes — the claim sounds outrageous. But let’s break it down.

Who Made the Claim?

Catherine Austin Fitts, former Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (1989–1990), revealed these allegations in a conversation with Tucker Carlson on his podcast.

Fitts said she spent years hunting for $21 trillion in unauthorized spending by the Departments of Defense and Housing and Urban Development.

The Missing Trillions

Her search began after reading a 2017 report by Michigan State University economist Mark Skidmore.
According to that report, the Army reported $6.5 trillion in “unsupported adjustments” in fiscal 2015.
This figure was staggering — 54 times more than the Army’s authorized $122 billion budget.

Forbes highlighted that such “gargantuan” government spending gaps should alarm every taxpayer.

Digging Into the Underground

Determined, Fitts partnered with Skidmore and spent two years investigating. She now alleges the missing money funded black budget projects — including massive underground cities.

“These underground bases have their own infrastructure, technology, and resources,” Fitts told Carlson.
“They’re built to survive global disasters.”

Underground Cities and Ocean Bases

Carlson, visibly stunned, asked, “I’m sorry?”
Fitts doubled down.
“We’ve built an extraordinary number of underground bases and transportation systems,” she explained.
“Some are documented under national security, but I believe there are many more — across the U.S. and worldwide.”

Shockingly, Fitts added, “Some even exist under the ocean around the U.S.”
She estimates about 170 bases, all connected by a transportation network.

Built for the Rich?

What do these secret bunkers offer? According to Fitts, they run on “breakthrough energy” and serve as a vault to shield the elite from disaster.

“It wasn’t an accident,” she stated.
“This was a choice — to strip the country’s assets, hollow out communities, and leave everyday Americans to face the aftermath.”

Is There Any Proof?

While Fitts’ claims seem conspiratorial, her finance background and deep dive into government budgets give them some staying power. Yet — there’s no hard evidence so far.
