As the host publicly asserts that political stories were controlled, 60 Minutes gears up to release a startling Trump report

CBS Prepares Shocking Report on Trump Amid Claims of Content ‘Supervision’

CBS is set to release a controversial report on Donald Trump, just as the host of 60 Minutes, Scott Pelley, accuses the network’s parent company, Paramount, of overseeing political stories.

Host Criticizes Paramount

Pelley, a seasoned CBS reporter, recently criticized Paramount’s influence on CBS News. He claims the network’s coverage, particularly surrounding Trump and his administration, was targeted. This came after Pelley’s live on-air comments about the alleged supervision of content.

Pelley Praises Former Boss Amid Controversy

Pelley, who has worked for CBS News for over 30 years, reflected on the network’s historical commitment to fair and accurate reporting. He praised Bill Owens, the recently resigned executive producer, for maintaining the integrity of 60 Minutes despite corporate pressures. Owens, Pelley explained, had left the show due to increasing interference from Paramount, which sought approval from the Trump administration.

Trump Slams 60 Minutes and Files Lawsuit

Trump has publicly criticized 60 Minutes on Truth Social, labeling it a “dishonest political operative.” His remarks come alongside a $20 billion lawsuit against CBS and Paramount, alleging election interference related to a 2022 interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump claims the interview was edited to favor the Democrats.

60 Minutes Plans Explosive Segment

60 Minutes will air its bombshell report, titled The Rule of the Law, on Sunday, May 4. The segment will reportedly focus on Trump’s executive orders targeting law firms, accusing them of “weaponizing” the justice system against him. Pelley is set to deliver the segment tonight.

FCC Investigation and Complaints

The FCC is investigating CBS over potential violations of ‘news distortion’ regulations linked to the Harris interview. The investigation includes complaints about the selective editing of her responses on Middle East policy. Further complaints have been filed against other networks, including ABC and NBC, regarding their coverage of the election.

Owens Resigns Over Corporate Interference

In his resignation letter, Bill Owens cited corporate interference as the reason for his departure. He stated he was no longer able to run the show with the independence 60 Minutes once had.
