Trump Draws a Line
The long-promised peace deal between Ukraine and Russia remains out of reach. Now, Donald Trump is done playing nice.
In a fiery new statement, the former president takes direct aim at Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. His latest remarks mark one of his most explosive warnings yet.
Trump Points the Finger at Zelensky
Throughout his campaign, Trump often claimed he could end the Russia-Ukraine war “within 24 hours.” That promise has yet to materialize.
Frustration is clearly growing. In a social media tirade already making waves, Trump accused Zelensky of prolonging the war and risking Ukraine’s collapse.
On Truth Social, Trump delivered an ultimatum:
“He can have Peace or, he can fight for another three years before losing the whole Country,” Trump wrote.
“The statement made by Zelenskyy today will do nothing but prolong the ‘killing field,’ and nobody wants that!”
The Trigger: Crimea
Zelensky’s recent interview with The Wall Street Journal set Trump off. In it, the Ukrainian president vowed never to recognize Russia’s occupation of Crimea.
Trump blasted the remark as a “very harmful” blow to peace talks. He insisted Crimea was lost “years ago under President Barack Hussein Obama” and shouldn’t even be on the table.
He added,
“Nobody is asking Zelenskyy to recognize Crimea as Russian Territory, but if he wants Crimea, why didn’t they fight for it eleven years ago when it was handed over to Russia without a shot?”

A Deal in Reach?
Trump didn’t stop there. He accused Zelensky of making inflammatory remarks and showing off in the face of disaster.
In his harshest rebuke yet, he said:
“We are very close to a Deal, but the man with ‘no cards to play’ should now, finally, GET IT DONE.”
He also highlighted the war’s human cost:
“I have nothing to do with Russia, but have much to do with wanting to save, on average, five thousand Russian and Ukrainian soldiers a week, who are dying for no reason whatsoever.”
Rubio Delivers a Chilling Echo
Just hours earlier, Secretary of State Marco Rubio echoed Trump’s warning. Speaking in Paris, he hinted the U.S. might “walk away” from the talks altogether.
“We are now reaching a point where we need to decide whether this is even possible or not,” Rubio said.
“If it’s not, then I think we’re just going to move on. It’s not our war.”
U.S. Steps Back, Putin Steps In
In a dramatic shift, U.S. officials reportedly pulled out of a key summit in London. Ukraine’s refusal to make territorial concessions to Russia triggered the move.
Trump’s peace envoy, Steve Witkoff, was spotted heading to Moscow for direct talks with Vladimir Putin instead.
Allies in Shock
The sudden pivot caught U.S. allies off guard. One British official reportedly told Daily Mail,
“The US are f***ing up everything – on Ukraine, on tariffs, on everything.”
Former UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace was even blunter:
“The next war will happen not because of Ukraine’s actions but because of Donald Trump and his red-neck team of Walter Mittys, media pundits, and real estate salesmen who fail to understand the world we live in.”
