Halo Brows: The Bold Beauty Trend Redefining Eyebrow Artistry

The Rise of the Halo Brow: Beauty’s Boldest New Trend

Eyebrows have always been a playground for creative expression, evolving through styles like feathered arches, bleached brows, and even graphic geometric designs. The latest eye-catching twist? The “halo brow”—a bold, artistic look that transforms the brows into a whimsical arc stretching across the forehead.

How the Halo Brow Was Born
The trend was first brought to life by Hannah Lyne, a 16-year-old makeup enthusiast from the UK, known on Instagram as @hannahdoesmakeupp. Inspired by the dramatic flick of fishtail brows, Lyne had a spontaneous idea during a conversation with a friend: “I realized I could connect my brow tails and make a halo. It just came to me!”

From that spark of inspiration, the halo brow was born—a statement look that’s part beauty trend, part creative experiment.

Creating the Look
To achieve the halo effect, the outer halves of the natural eyebrows are first concealed. Then, using brow products like NYX Cosmetics’ Tame and Frame Pomade in Espresso, a curved arch is drawn to link the two brows across the top of the forehead.

For added drama and dimension, Lyne highlights key features such as the cheekbones, brow bone, and inner eye corners, giving the look an ethereal, otherworldly glow.

The Internet Reacts: Praise, Confusion, and Curiosity
As with most unconventional beauty trends, halo brows sparked a mixed response online. Some followers praised Lyne’s creativity:

“All of your looks are so original… Honestly, your talent is endless!”

Others, however, weren’t so quick to embrace the trend, calling it “ridiculous” or questioning its practical use. Still, it captured the internet’s attention—an undeniable win in the world of experimental beauty.

Trying It IRL: A Beauty Writer’s Experience
Beauty writer Zoe Weiner took the trend for a test drive and shared her experience. She found it tricky to conceal her dark brows and to craft a clean, symmetrical arc—but despite the challenges, she found joy in the process. While she didn’t feel confident enough to wear the look in public, she appreciated the creative freedom and humor in the experiment.

A Statement of Self-Expression
At its core, the halo brow trend speaks to a bigger movement in beauty: one that champions individuality, playfulness, and breaking the mold. While it’s unlikely to go mainstream, it invites people to have fun with their look and explore the unexpected.

As Hannah Lyne put it:

“I just want people to embrace being silly and doing weird, creative looks!”

In a beauty world that often emphasizes perfection, trends like the halo brow offer a refreshing reminder that makeup is also about fun, freedom, and fearless experimentation.

Whether you love it, hate it, or just enjoy watching from the sidelines, the halo brow is another step in beauty’s ever-evolving journey of self-expression.
