Kamala Harris has finally spoken out after several months of silence, and many believe she articulated the thoughts that resonate with a lot of us.
Harris, who faced defeat in the presidential race against Donald Trump, addressed the pervasive sense of fear that has taken hold across the United States under the current administration’s renewed leadership.
During her speech at the Leading Women Defined Summit in California on April 3, Harris subtly referenced the tariffs Trump has imposed on various countries, along with his numerous actions and executive orders, many of which conflict with legal standards. Her remarks highlighted the consequences of his decisions.

“When one person, or a few individuals, demonstrate courage, it reflects the bravery shown by the leaders in this room every day.
“To have the courage to express fear, to acknowledge that what is happening is unjust, and to assert that we must find a path forward.
“Recognizing the power we still possess in our democracy, as long as we hold onto it.
“Courage is infectious.”
She continued, “These are the realities we’ve been witnessing repeatedly in recent months. And yes — it instills fear. Because many of the developments we’re observing… we anticipated. I’m not here to say, ‘I told you so.’”
Kamala Harris pointed out that both individuals and organizations are remaining silent, noting that “we are witnessing capitulation to clearly unconstitutional threats.”
Representative Jamie Raskin echoed Harris’ sentiments during an interview with Jen Psaki on MSNBC. Like the former vice president, Raskin feels that Democrats have been unfairly criticized for not being vocal enough.
“People kept asking, ‘Where’s the Democratic leadership?’” Raskin remarked. “But the truth is, it takes time to fully grasp the impact of what’s unfolding. We’re facing a concerted effort toward authoritarian control, the purging of federal employees — assaults on multiple fronts.”
He emphasized that Democrats are standing firm. “Now, everyone is in a fight.”

After her electoral defeat, Harris has maintained a quiet presence, but she is now re-emerging into the public eye.
As reported by The Grio, she is contemplating a run for governor of California in 2026.
