Investor Calls for Elon Musk to Step Down as Tesla CEO
A Tesla investor has urged Elon Musk to resign as CEO, arguing that his leadership is hurting the company.
Musk’s Divisive Role in Politics
Musk has been highly visible in American politics, frequently using his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), to support Donald Trump’s administration. However, his growing political presence has made him a polarizing figure, which some believe is damaging Tesla’s reputation.
Tesla’s Crisis: Plummeting Sales and Protests
Since December, Tesla’s market value has dropped by over $800 billion. Protests and boycotts against the brand have only worsened the situation. Investor Ross Gerber claims the company is now in crisis, citing Musk’s divisive public image as a major factor.
“Tesla Needs a New CEO”
Speaking to Sky News, Gerber criticized Musk’s lack of focus on Tesla:
“The company’s reputation has been destroyed by Elon Musk. Sales are plummeting. You can’t sell the best product in the market because the CEO is too divisive.”
He argued that Musk must choose between his political ambitions and his role at Tesla:
“Either Elon should return to Tesla full-time or step aside and appoint a suitable CEO.”
No Response from Musk
Despite the harsh criticism, Musk has not publicly addressed Gerber’s comments.
