Russia sends chilling ‘WW3’ threat with NATO as Trump outlines peace talk plans

A Russian government official has labeled two world leaders ‘dumb’ and suggested that they are tinkering on the edge of World War III.

As President Donald Trump attempts to strike a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia following the former’s unjust invasion of its southeastern neighbor three years ago, the deputy chair of the security council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, has posted a fiery statement about two of the US’ allies.

Medvedev, the former president of Russia, took to Twitter to slam President of France Emmanuel Macron, as well as UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer for proposing to deploy NATO troops in Ukraine.

The pair called for a ‘coalition of the willing’, which could see 10,000 soldiers sent to the war-torn country from both EU and NATO, as well as ‘minehunters’.

‘Minehunters’ are navy vessels that seek, detect and then destroy naval mines, while patrolling coasts and safeguarding the seas.

NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, was created back in 1949 by the United States, Canada, and several Western European nations to provide collective security against the Soviet Union.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened that, if NATO adopt Ukraine into its organization, he will draw from his nuclear arsenal, which many believe would be the beginning of World War III.

Taking to Twitter, Medvedev posted: “Macron and Starmer are playing dumb. Time and again they are told that peacekeepers must be from non-NATO states. No, we will send tens of thousands – just lay it out – you want to give military aid to the neo-Nazis in Kiev. That means war with NATO. Consult with Trump, scumbags.”

Earlier this month, US and Ukrainian officials met in Saudi Arabia to discuss organizing a ceasefire with Russia, with negotiations reportedly going on for eight hours.

The two countries released a joint statement afterwards which outlined their hopes of having Russia sign a 30-day ceasefire, with Trump recently adding that there would be ‘devastating’ consequences for Russia if they did not agree.

However, Putin is yet to agree to the ceasefire – with Starmer criticizing him for ‘dragging his feet’ over the deal.

“Sooner or later, he is going to have to come to the table and engage in serious discussions,” the prime minister told the reporters in the UK.

“So this is the moment: let the guns fall silent, let the barbaric attacks on Ukraine once and for all stop, and agree to a ceasefire now.”
