Missing 2-Year-Old Dane Paulsen Found Dead

Authorities confirmed the tragic end to a nearly two-week search for 2-year-old Dane Paulsen, who went missing on March 1. His body was found on March 11 in the Siletz River, about three miles downstream from his family’s home.

Search Efforts and Discovery

Volunteer diver Juan Heredia from Angels Recovery Dive Team located Paulsen at 11:13 a.m. after searching areas beyond those previously covered. “Sadly, he was found deceased,” the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office stated. Investigators are processing the scene with the medical examiner’s office.

Community Support and Response

Sheriff Adam Shanks acknowledged the efforts of search teams and volunteers while expressing sorrow. “Our thoughts are with the family, who are facing an unbearable sorrow,” he said.

The sheriff’s office confirmed the family has been notified, urging the public to respect their privacy. “Out of respect for the family’s privacy… we ask the public and media to respect their need for space and time to grieve,” the statement read.
