Trump Soars to Record Approval as Poll Shows America Embraces His Policies

President Donald Trump’s job approval rating has fluctuated in recent years, with polls showing it at approximately 50%, reflecting a recovery in his popularity compared to earlier periods in his presidency. While specific polls from February 2025 report different approval figures, none show a consistent rating of 55%. Recent data indicates approval ratings in the low 50s, underscoring a resurgence of support, especially among conservative voters.

In January 2025, Trump signed an executive order to eliminate federal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies, citing concerns over government inefficiency and waste. The executive order mandated the cessation of DEI programs within federal agencies and contractors, aligning with his broader goals of reducing what he views as unnecessary government spending. This move was widely praised by his base, who see it as a step toward cutting excess and refocusing resources on middle-class Americans.

Trump’s stance on DEI has had a ripple effect across the corporate world. Several major corporations, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Meta, have reevaluated their DEI initiatives. While some companies have publicly adjusted their positions on diversity programs, it remains unclear to what extent these changes have been enacted in practice. Despite this, other companies, such as Fiserv, have continued to emphasize their commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity in their operations.

Critics of DEI argue that such policies can inadvertently lead to reverse discrimination, where merit is overshadowed by race, gender, or sexual orientation in hiring and promotion decisions. They assert that DEI programs divert focus from qualifications, causing division in the workplace and wasting resources. The U.S. Supreme Court’s 2023 ruling against affirmative action in higher education has strengthened this viewpoint, with many conservatives arguing that policies based on identity politics have undermined fairness.

Under the previous administration, DEI initiatives became a staple of federal operations, influencing decisions from Pentagon promotions to research priorities at agencies like the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Trump’s policies aimed to dismantle these programs, framing them as politically motivated and inefficient. The administration sought to shift the focus back to merit-based practices, with the belief that government policies should primarily benefit all Americans, rather than advance specific political agendas.

As Trump continues to advocate for these changes, his approval ratings, while varying across different polls, reflect a significant portion of the electorate that supports his economic and political reforms, particularly his efforts to reduce federal spending and challenge policies perceived as favoring identity-based agendas.
