In a devastating turn of events, a man has courageously shared his emotional account of the moment he realized something was amiss after losing his wife and 12-year-old daughter in the catastrophic crash that took place on Wednesday, January 29.

The crash, which occurred just before 9 p.m., involved a midair collision between a Black Hawk US Army helicopter and an American Airlines-owned PSA Airlines aircraft, Flight 5342.

The flight, which was preparing to land at Ronald Reagan National Airport near Washington, D.C., tragically ended in disaster, killing all aboard.

The father, who wishes to remain anonymous, recalled the chilling moment when he first heard the news. “At first, I thought it couldn’t be true.

But as the hours passed and more details emerged, I began to understand the gravity of the situation,” he said. “I had no idea my family was on that flight until the authorities confirmed it.”

The collision occurred during a routine operation as the PSA Airlines flight was nearing the airport, and while investigations are ongoing, initial reports indicate that the cause of the midair crash is still unclear.

The father expressed his shock and grief over the tragedy, noting that his wife and daughter had been returning from a trip to visit relatives.

“There’s a part of me that still can’t believe it,” he shared. “I’m trying to hold on to the memories we had, but right now, everything feels surreal.

I just want to understand how this happened, and why my family had to be on that flight.”

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched a full investigation into the cause of the collision.

Both the US Army and American Airlines have expressed their deepest sympathies for the families affected by the crash.

In the wake of this devastating loss, the community has rallied around the grieving father, offering support and condolences during this unimaginable time.

For now, he remains focused on finding answers and keeping the memory of his loved ones alive.
